While looking for a slightly upscale local breakfast in Nha Trang, I stumbled upon Bánh Canh Ghẹ Cô Ba Miền Biển — a noodle shop specializing in crab soup.

To get straight to the point: the amount of crab is impressive. But the noodles were noticeably sparse, and the price felt a bit steep. A tourist-oriented spot, perhaps? Here’s my honest review.

🦀 What I ordered: “Bánh Canh Ghẹ” (Crab Noodle Soup)

The menu offers a variety of dishes, but I chose the restaurant’s main attraction — Bánh Canh Ghẹ, a crab-loaded bowl of noodle soup.

📹 Curious about the portion size? Watch the video here:

As seen in the video, the bowl is absolutely filled with crab meat — likely from the claws. However, it’s not all pure meat — there are also some pieces of shell or cartilage, so you’ll want to be careful while eating.

The broth is rich and aromatic, full of that unmistakable crab flavor.

🍜 Noodle options and texture

You can choose between two types of noodles:

  • Bột Gạo – thin rice noodles
  • Bột Lọc – chewy, translucent tapioca noodles (this is what I chose)

I went with Bột Lọc, which had a soft, bouncy texture. While I really liked the mouthfeel, I was left wanting more — the noodle portion was quite small for the size of the bowl.

🦀 Comes with crab dipping sauce

The meal also includes a crab dipping sauce on the side. You can use it for added flavor, but personally, I found the soup itself flavorful enough without it.

📶 Lightning-fast Wi-Fi, but not for working

Just out of curiosity, I ran a speed test — and the result was an impressive 410 Mbps!

That said, the space has no air conditioning (only fans) and fills up quickly during breakfast hours. It’s meant for dining — not for long work sessions on your laptop. You wouldn’t want to overstay.

💸 Is it worth the price?

At 129,000 VND (~$5.00), this dish is fairly expensive compared to most local meals in Vietnam.

It seems to target tourists more than locals — and while the crab amount justifies the price to some extent, those familiar with Vietnam’s food prices may find it a bit too high.

That said, if you’re craving crab for breakfast, this could be a unique treat — but don’t expect a large portion of noodles or exceptional value.

🔚 Final Thoughts: Try once, but manage expectations

  • 🦀 Excellent amount of crab, flavorful soup
  • 🍜 Noodle portion is small — might leave you hungry
  • 📶 Super fast Wi-Fi, but not suitable for remote work
  • 💸 Pricey for Vietnam — feels aimed at visitors

If you’re in Nha Trang and feel like indulging in crab noodle soup, this is worth trying once. But if you’re budget-conscious or already used to local pricing, you may want to consider other options nearby.
