☕️ An Cafe in Nha Trang|Tropical Vibes, But Not for Remote Work?

Looking for a stylish cafe while traveling often leads you to charming, nature-filled places like this. But let’s face it—”great atmosphere” doesn’t always mean “great for work.”

In this post, I share my honest experience visiting An Cafe, a local chain with several locations across Nha Trang, from the perspective of a digital nomad.

📘 Quick Glance

AspectReview & Comments
Atmosphere✅ Beautiful mix of natural wood and tropical greenery
Drinks✅ Tasty, sweet, satisfying. Slow service.
Wi-Fi❌ Slow speeds—not ideal for work
Power Outlets❌ Limited and not accessible from all seats
Customers🇰🇷 Mostly tourists from Korea, Russia, and China
Airflow/AC⚠️ Open-air fans outside; air-conditioned indoor seating available

🟩 First Impressions

  • Located in the central area of Nha Trang, with easy access.
  • A two-story wooden structure that feels spacious and airy.
  • When I visited, the front was packed with parked motorbikes—a good sign of local popularity.

🌳 Immersive Tropical Ambience

  • A large tree grows at the center, surrounded by seats and a mini water feature.
  • Natural lighting and warm wood tones create a relaxing vibe.
  • Second floor is quieter, breezy, and somewhat cooler.
  • The open-air space is covered and equipped with fans.
  • There seems to be indoor seating with air conditioning too.

☕ Drinks & Ordering Process

  • I ordered an iced tea-style drink—it was flavorful and refreshing.
  • However, the sweetness was quite strong. One cup was more than enough.
  • It took around 20 minutes from ordering to receiving the drink.

💡 Note: I visited on a Sunday during the peak tourist season in July. A local told me July is one of the busiest months for tourism in Nha Trang.

💻 Wi-Fi Speed & Work Conditions

  • Download speed: 11 Mbps
  • Upload speed: 22 Mbps
  • Latency: 34ms (tested via Fast.com)
  • There were some power outlets scattered around, but not all seats had access to them.

👉 If you’re planning to work remotely, this might not be the ideal spot.

🛍️ Coffee Beans & Souvenirs

  • They sell various beans: Robusta, blends, and Arabica.
  • Product labels include Korean—clearly targeting tourists.
  • Not just a cafe—you can also grab gifts for coffee lovers back home.

🔚 Final Verdict: Not for Work, Great for a Break

While An Cafe nails the tropical aesthetics and laid-back atmosphere, it’s not the best choice for focused digital work. Slow Wi-Fi, limited power outlets, and long wait times make it more suitable for casual breaks than remote tasks.
