🔪 The Kitchen & Toppings

In the kitchen, a variety of ingredients lined the counter: jellyfish, fish cakes, fried shallots, fresh herbs — all beautifully arranged and aromatic. Just looking at it made my stomach growl.

🍲 The “Đặc biệt” Bowl

Here’s the actual Đặc biệt bowl I ordered: a clear broth packed with generous toppings. Fresh vegetables came on a separate plate for added crunch and balance.

✅ What is Bún sứa chả cá dầm?

💡 Bún sứa chả cá dầm is a traditional noodle soup popular in Nha Trang and other coastal regions of Central Vietnam. “Sứa” means jellyfish, and “chả cá” refers to deep-fried fish paste. Despite its light and transparent broth, the soup carries a rich seafood umami.

As I personally don’t like jellyfish, I asked to have it removed from my bowl.

✅ My Thoughts After the Meal

One bite was all it took to realize: this is delicious.
The broth was mild yet deeply flavorful, enhanced by the umami-rich toppings and crispy shallots. By the end of the bowl, I was sweating — but in the best way possible.

✅ Summary

  • ✅ Want to experience a truly local and popular eatery?
  • ✅ Curious about regional noodle dishes from Central Vietnam?
  • ✅ Looking for a flavorful and affordable meal?

Then Quán Nguyễn Loan is a must-visit spot. I’ll definitely be returning next time I visit Nha Trang.
